The Roman Colosseum, or Flavian Amphitheatre, hosted a variety of spectacles in ancient Rome, from gladiatorial contests to theatrical performances. Built between 70-80 AD, it accommodated up to 80,000 spectators, remaining a symbol of Rome's grandeur. Depicted in films like "Gladiator" and countless artworks, it stands as an enduring icon of history and entertainment.
Pattachitra art, originating from Odisha and West Bengal, involves intricate scroll paintings on specially treated cloth. Using natural pigments and brushes made from animal hair, artisans depict mythological and religious themes with meticulous detailing. Dating back to the 5th century AD, this art form preserves cultural narratives and continues to thrive as a cherished part of India's artistic heritage.
