Saura Tribal Art of India
The Sauras, one of India's most ancient tribes mentioned in the Ramayana and Mahabharata, create distinctive art. Saura art of Odisha, uses natural colors and simple motifs to depict daily life and nature. While similar to Maharashtra's Warli art in its geometric patterns, Saura art is distinct for its intricate detailing, elongated human forms and fishnet borders celebrating rural life and ancestral heritage.
